Inkwell Wishes

Welcome to a collection of my artistic good intentions! I'm hoping this space will give me some sort of structure as I learn how to make things. The current goal:

- A blog post and sketch every weekday.

- A review every week.

Figuring out HTML is taking more time than I thought. Right now I think this is going on the home page, but I’ll figure out how to make a separate blog page at some point.

I was still a youngster when Geocities stopped being the standard website platform. I was very interest in movie Easter eggs, and I remember finding a Geocities page for Hidden Mickeys, and being frustrated that like half the entries did not qualify. (There was an entry for Indiana Jones that counted the line, “If you’re here to inspect tapestries, then I’m Mickey Mouse!” as a Hidden Mickey. Incredible how that memory’s stuck with me for so long.)

I know HTML is fairly simple as far as coding goes, but since I’m trying to alter a template I found online somewhere, I’m caught in a weird place where the stuff I’ve learned so far seems easy enough, but also I’m trying to work with a finished product that’s above my skill level.

Actually, I want to credit where I’m finding this stuff, it’s scary how easy it is to go, “I found this template somewhere” and just leave it at that. The tutorial I’m trying to learn from is:

And the template I started with came from here:

And I also found some helpful stuff here:

I doubt the links will work properly, and that seems like a project for tomorrow. The temptation to have some sort of sign-off is strong, but experience has taught me that I need to let stuff like that develop organically. Take care!
